An outstanding singer-songwriter, soulful performer, inspiring author, and ambitious business woman, India M is quickly taking over the R&B music scene with her passionate story-telling and bewitching stage presence.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY India M started singing at the age of=2 05 and a year later, she was already formally training her young pipes with a vocal coach. At 14, India M had joined her first band as a singer and was quickly gaining attention and recognition in the industry. With her determination and perseverance, two years later they were asked to open for B.T. Express in Virginia Beach.
The talented vocalist continued to focus on her goals and began networking and learning as much as she could about the music business. She went on to write her first songs and produce her first album entitled “Feelings” featuring “Casonover,” “You Did Me Wrong,” “In Love with You,” “Another Night (Jeep Beat),” “Got to Have Your Love,” and “You.” This collection of amazing songs sparked the interest of a seasoned producer who quickly introduced her to JAMBOX Studio in Manhattan, NY. While working at JAMBOX, India M and her producer worked with engineer Lee Evans who took her songs to another level, bringing out her unique style.
This was only the beginning of India M’s journey. She went on to work with several artists including Janet Sol; she did background vocals for the Naked Cowboy’s debut album; collaborated on the hit “Call Him,” a track which started out as a gospel song and India M transformed it into a high-energy dance record which took club goers by storm. “Everything I write comes from the heart. And even though I love to sing, I am not selfish. I love to write songs for other artists so they can sing it from their heart,” comments India M.
India M has toured the US, performed at many venues and events including Brooklyn Pride in 2008, “Out Music”, “The Fresh Fruit Play House”, “The Root Hill”, “S.P.I.T.,” “Nuyorican Café,” and she has also performed with singer Lovari at the LGBT EXPO 2009. Additionally, India M managed the stage for the 2009 Fresh Fruit Festival Awards .Just recently she performed at the"Leopard Lounge" and she is also the CEO of Just Me Productions Entertainment.
A multifaceted entertainer, India M is currently working on “From the Soul,” a compilation of all her songs, scheduled to be released in late 2010. She is also producing "My Mother’s Wishes," an R&B/Gospel album of covers which she dedicated to her mother and will feature some very special voices which will be revealed in the near future. Simultaneously, she is working on two books and preparing several shows.
