Two more months, several more meetings and lots of volunteers to round up 'til "Queens Pride Day"! The month of March had us busy as bees reaching out to every place we could to spread the word.

  On February 26-28th was the NorthEast Regional Pride Conference(NERP), where all our regional pride organizations met for their annual gathering including Plenary Sessions, informative workshops to provide forward progress in Pride events, as well as many cultural activities. Several board members from Queens Pride were in attendance. Ari, Greg, Hank, Brian and myself were busy networking with our fellow Pride organizers. Our own webmaster Brian was also a workshop presenter at NERP, entitled "Dot Pride" explaining the several simple applications members can use for their Pride websites.

  On March 20-21st was the annual GLBT Expo at Javits Center. Our board members had a great time networking; scouting new talent and volunteers; and provided a fun slide-show of our past events to curious on-lookers! Our Member at Large Chap hosted a successful Queens Pride Happy Hour Mixer held at Studio Square Beer Garden in Astoria on March 18th. Attendees enjoyed the grilled food and beer specials at this new establishment. Our next General Membership meeting is on Thursday May 6th @ 7pm held at Queens Borough Hall 120-55 Queens Boulevard Part 1-Room 213 second floor, in Kew Gardens. To get there, take the E or F subway to Union Tpke-Kew Gardens subway stop. We are 1 block away.Please join us in our Mailing Party stuffing our envelopes and enjoying free pizzas and sodas!
